Introduction to Stephanie Winfrey

Why a memo and not a blog? Hello and welcome! I am nerdily happy you are here!

I have chosen to call these memos for a couple of reasons. I intend them to be something educational and applicable to you. Also, writing a blog seems a bit daunting. Like maybe you are supposed to be good at written expression. This allows me to get straight to the point because memos are typically shorter. Plus, I am not normal. So doing something normal, like creating a website and writing a blog, but calling it a memo, just fits my style and need for rebellion. So, see, it’s different. It isn’t the same as a blog, it’s a memo… k?! lol

Who am I? My name is Stephanie Winfrey. I am a full-time psychotherapist licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oklahoma. Before graduating with a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma, I started working with adults. That is where I thrive! My most proficient work is with adults whose parents are emotionally unavailable and/or survivors of childhood trauma. Through this work, I have gained additional expertise in working with adults suffering from relationship anxiety and relationship OCD (ROCD for short).

Want more? I have a psychoeducational Instagram page @StephanieDoesTherapy where I post nearly daily tips or funny clips. If you are interested in scheduling a consultation, please click “book with me” at the top!

I’m Stephanie, the therapist for driven, goal seeking, ambitious people. I find most of my patients describe themselves as deep feelers or overthinkers who may have had some levels of a chaotic childhood or upbringing. My patients find me because they’re ready to make friends with their brains rather than feeling paralyzed by negative thoughts.Life can get really complicated, especially when trauma, ROCD, and relationships are all tangled up in the mix. And being someone who’s been through this too, I know exactly what it’s like to feel stuck while also wishing I could just get my brain to calm down.As I’ve spent years studying anxiety, trauma, and more recently ROCD therapies, I’m the perfect person to help you explore the patterns that keep you going in circles and break free from your overthinking and overwhelming feelings. Life doesn’t have to be this way, and as someone on the other side of anxiety, trauma, and ROCD, I can promise that life can be beautiful with the right support.
