Trauma & OCD Therapist in Oklahoma

OCD therapist in Oklahoma, Stephanie Winfrey

Is rumination and overthinking wrecking your mind? Have you tried therapy built to treat it?

You have it together on the outside, people rely on you, and you make decisions. Just not before long cycles of rumination and overthinking. Like you are going to somehow think yourself out of this overthinking, but it doesn’t work.

I’m Stephanie Winfrey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in rumination and overthinking. I am a Trauma & OCD therapist in Oklahoma, also specializing in ROCD through virtual therapy for adults throughout Oklahoma.

High achiever? I can help by getting to the root in rumination and overthinking therapy. I specialize in Trauma & OCD Therapy in Oklahoma.

What I help with:

Overthinking (also known as worrying, overanalyzing) — dwelling on a thought, experience, or possible future while fixating on the negatives. Often you feel powerless to stop the spiral once it starts. This can be related to trauma or OCD.

Relationship doubt — constantly questioning your relationship, your partner, or yourself in it, even though nothing bad has happened. It often includes overthinking, and can be related to relationship OCD (ROCD) or trauma.

Rumination — dwelling on the past: replaying what you did or said and hunting for what you got wrong. This can be related to depression, trauma, or OCD. Can be related to trauma or OCD.

Sifting the sands (also known as mental checking) — scouring your memory or past experiences to be sure you didn’t miss something bad. This is often a compulsion related to OCD.

If this was something you could think your way out of, you would have already done it

I specialize in rumination and overthinking therapy because I’ve lived it. These symptoms can be a part of trauma or OCD. One critical truth is OCD doesn’t always look like what you’ve seen on TV. For that matter, trauma doesn’t always look like what you have seen either.

It looks like feeling stuck for hours wondering how to stop ruminating. Finding yourself replaying a situation over and over, even when you don’t necessarily care. Sometimes it looks like a thought that scares you so much you don’t tell anyone.

You are a high achiever, I am not going to tell you something you don’t already know. But what I am going to do is get to the core of what perpetuates your overthinking using evidence-based therapy.

For OCD, I use the gold-standard approaches: exposure and response prevention (ERP) and inference-based CBT (I-CBT). For trauma, I draw on EMDR, DBT, and CBT. The goal is to get you out of your overthinking mind and back to the life you want to live.
